The Mystic Quest

It's the other side of nowhere

And yet it's always here

And you can see it in everything

When everything is clear

It's up a misty mountain

Almost to the sky

In every flame and fountain

Shooting up so high

And I don't mean with a needle

If you can follow the thread -

I mean when you are living

And not when you are dead

So it's down a valley of darkness

Through a vale of tears

Across a sea of sorrows

And through a forest of fears

Then it's out into the open

Dancing in the sun

Pretending it is many

When it's really only

One

But we live in an age of reasonable doubt

So you’ll maybe think me odd

If I say that what I'm talking about

Is what they used to call

God.

It's the other side of nowhere

And yet it's always here

And you can see it in everything

When everything is clear.
